How Your Company’s Vehicle Tracking System Benefits You
Learn how vehicle tracking enhances your safety, efficiency, and overall job satisfaction as a driver of a company vehicle.
Over 800,000 company vehicles tracked worldwide
What does it mean to drive a tracked company vehicle?
Whether driving forms a small or large part of your role, vehicle tracking can help your employer to manage business operations, reduce risks, and report on team activity. But there are many benefits for you as an employee too, from streamlined workflows, to improved safety and better job satisfaction. Working for a business that implements vehicle tracking positively impacts your day-to-day experience in several ways.
Mark trips as private and manage your personal mileage
Wave goodbye to mileage admin tasks and questions about where you have been and when – when your employer uses vehicle tracking, the system does this all for you. Retrospectively mark trips as private within your Quartix mobile app to ensure that your personal journeys are not logged as work-related.
To support your vehicle use agreement, your employer can add rules for when the tracker records your trips and when it does not, keeping any personal trips you make in your company vehicle confidential.
- Optional private vehicle use settings
- Classify trips for accurate reimbursement
Join thousands of drivers improving their driving style
When you drive a company vehicle, you represent your company on the road. Employers who use vehicle tracking prioritise road safety by monitoring driver behaviour across their teams. As an employee, you benefit from these insights too. Download the Quartix mobile app to see detailed reports on your driving behaviour and identify any risky or fuel-thirsty habits. Set personal targets such as reducing harsh braking or maintaining a steadier speed to improve your driving scores.
See how driver scores are calculatedReduce road risk
Our Relative Speed Score shows how your speed compares to other drivers on the very same roads, offering a far better measurement of speed safety than simply adhering to speed limits. Driving close to the average speed used on any given road significantly reduces the chance of accidents.
- Reduce the level of risk you take on the road
- Benchmark your driving style against others
- Drive at safe speeds, not just legal speeds
Upskilling drivers and encouraging a positive mindset
“In the first months of using Quartix, we had no drivers with good scores. We started publicising the results, and we were inundated with questions from them about how to improve. They paid attention and wanted to turn things around… Now, they are all competing for the top position – it’s always very tight each month, with most drivers scoring between 95-99.”

Driver scores update daily and are categorised as Green (above 80) for good, Amber (50-80) for OK, and Red (50 or below) for bad.
Driver scores are based on your speed changes per second of driving. The frequency and severity of these changes are calculated, against total driving time. Acceleration and braking indexes are also formed using this information. Your Quartix driver score is the average of these indexes, subtracted from 100.
Steady driving with gradual acceleration and braking will improve your driver score, providing more time to react to road changes and reducing stress on your vehicle. See how our customers collaborate with their drivers to improve driving scores company-wide.
Additionally, these fuel-efficient driving tips can help prolong vehicle life and reduce fuel consumption.
The Quartix relative speed score considers the average speed of other drivers on the same stretch of road you travel. It indicates whether your speed was safe in the context of that specific road segment. This helps identify undue risk even when driving within the speed limit, such as on a 60 mph rural road with several tight bends.
